Play Double Klondike Solitaire Online

Double Klondike expands the classic table to 2 decks, 9 tableau columns and 8 foundations. The 1st column receives 1 card, the 2nd receives 2 and the pattern continues through the 9th. Only the bottom card of each column starts face up, leaving 45 cards on the table and 59 in the stock.

The larger deal creates room for longer alternating-color runs without changing the moves Klondike players already know. Build downward on the tableau, move Kings into empty columns and send cards home by suit. A Draw 1 stock and 1 redeal give the 104-card game enough time to unfold without turning the waste into an unlimited holding pile.

9 Columns Change the Shape of Klondike

The opening staircase is wider and deeper than the 7-column layout in Klondike Turn 1. The 9th column begins with 8 covered cards under its face-up card, so clearing the outer columns can take a large part of the deal. Shorter columns may open early and become working space for a King-led run.

There are 2 copies of every card. Seeing the Queen of hearts on the waste does not tell you where the 2nd Queen of hearts is, and either copy may belong on either heart foundation. The duplicate ranks create more legal landings, but they also make it worth checking which copy releases a covered card.

The 1-to-9 staircase holds 45 cards; the other 59 begin in the stock.

Tableau Moves

Place a card on the next higher rank of the opposite color. A black 8 accepts a red 7. Ordered alternating-color groups move together, and only a King or a run beginning with a King can enter an empty column.

8 Foundations

Each suit has 2 foundation piles. Both begin with an Ace and rise in suit to King. Moving all 104 cards onto those 8 piles wins the game.

Draw 1 with a Single Redeal

The stock turns over 1 card at a time. Its exposed card can move to the tableau or a foundation. After the 1st pass, the waste can be returned to the stock once. When the 2nd pass ends, no further redeal is available.

That limit keeps waste decisions meaningful. A playable card does not have to leave immediately, especially when moving it would occupy the only useful tableau landing. The complete Double Klondike rules and strategy guide follows the stock through both passes and explains how duplicate foundation cards affect the choice.

The waste is available for 2 passes through the stock, with no 3rd redeal.

More Space, More Covered Cards

Double Klondike is not simply a longer version of the 1-deck game. The extra columns provide more landing spots, while the deeper piles hide more information. A move that uncovers the 2nd column may matter less than a move that begins opening column 8, even when both are legal.

Players who prefer every tableau card visible may enjoy Forty Thieves, another 2-deck builder with a much stricter same-suit table. For a compact Klondike stock puzzle, try Klondike Turn 3 instead.

An open column can carry a King-led run while the deeper piles are uncovered.

Certified Deals and Clean Results

Certified Double Klondike deals have a winning line replayed by the same engine that runs the board. Hints, undo and full-line practice remain available. A finish using those tools is recorded as assisted, while a clean certified result can qualify for the leaderboard.
